Know Before You Go

1. To ensure a successful experience, please review the following details:

Arrival and Check-In

  • Business attire is strongly recommended.
  • Please plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled entry time.
  • Free parking is available at the parking garage adjacent to the Marriott College Park Hotel and Conference Center.
  • Attendee Check-In Area: Located in the Hotel and Conference Center Main Concourse. Once you are checked-in, you will receive your name tag and further instructions.
  • Note that while this is a career expo, employers may or may not issue job offers on the day of the event.

2. If you have not downloaded the event app, please do so by following these steps:

  • Once the app is installed, open it on your mobile device.
  • Step 3: Log In

3. To confirm your registered time or to update your resume, follow these steps:

  • You will be able to view your registration responses and make edits, if necessary

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to register for this event?

Yes, registration is required to attend the event and there is no cost for attendees. Remember that entry to the fair is timed and arriving early may not necessarily allow you to be admitted until it is your time. In addition, we will have to stop accepting registrations once we are at capacity, so don’t delay your registration if you would like to attend.

2. Who is this career expo for?

This event is only open to former federal employees or contractors. Being a student at UMGC is not required in order to attend.

3. Can I register for this event if I am not affiliated with the University of Maryland Global Campus?

Yes, as long as you are a former federal employee or contractor.

4. Is this a hiring event?

Yes, this event is an opportunity to interact in-person with recruiters from a variety of industries.

5. Will there be an app for this event?

Yes, more details to come with information on downloading and using it.

6. Will there be any virtual sessions for this event?

No, this event will only be in-person.

7. How do I upload/edit my resume?

Submit your resume on the registration page and employers will gain access to it. You should also bring printed copies with you to the event.

8. Where can I find the list of employers?

Click on the Employers tab at the top of the page.

9. Are accommodations available and who should I contact?

If you require an accommodation to fully participate in this event, email Accessibility Services at accessibilityservices@umgc.edu. Please allow a minimum of 72 business hours prior to the event for their team to process your request.

10. Is this event Metro accessible?

The College Park Metro stop is the closest to the venue but it is nearly 2 miles away. If taking the Metro, you will need to arrange for additional transportation from the Metro to the event.

11. How to update my Resume?
